Just as bird collectors line up cages to select the best singers, this piece uses the same minimalist arrangement to highlight, on the one hand, the aesthetic qualities of the devices used by bird collectors, which, like a low-level customization, characterize their individual identities (clothing covers made from recycled scraps); and on the other hand, the symbolic weight of the added cultural interpretations derived from this collective suburban practice. Thus, in the sculpture, the weight of 13 cement blocks, identical in size to the cages, leaps precariously off the plank that serves as a shelf, to the point of revealing the fragility and tension of the situation.
