As a sculpture that forms a sort of hybrid between lattice screen and shelf space and complete the screening of Darrera Estrofa, this piece has a text constructed with a rigid geometry that makes difficult the reading of the word catastrophe decomposed by levels through which you can see the hypnotic video images. The contrast between the strong constructive character of these sculptural text and the images behind, suggests an implicit contradiction in the very meaning of the word and the title of the video.
For classical Greek the word catastrophe designates the last verse, the back line before writing an ending that opens the possibility of a new text. Also, Peter Pál Pelbart in Philosophy of desertion says that the catastrophe is not the result of a degeneration, but the condition of possibility for something opens. Slavoj Zizek also thinks that the disaster happens before the event / act and therefore is a result of our relationship with the nature of things and allows the event as taxation, such a radical change of reality itself.
