Just as the series of drawings Naturalisms forms an approach to elements and situations from the immediate natural environment, this series that follows has a relationship in the means and materials used, but I decide to enlarge the format and work with the idea of explicitly representing figurative sculptures that present fragmented members or are damaged by the passage of time.

The relationship of sculptors with drawing has often been appreciated in studies of a preparatory nature for the realization of main pieces. Rarely is attention paid to the drawing of sculptors as an autonomous process with an independent work quality. In this serie, the approach to certain sculptures far removed from our time and heterogeneous aesthetic contexts, allows me to focus on them as alien images from the distant past, almost as naturalizations of what we call works of art or culture. The drawing process with large amounts of water, iodine and ink causes the materials to be integrated organically into the paper to fossilize a certain appearance of the image. The set of the collection forms a polyptych of diverse associations, where the original context of each sculpture is in the background to favor a distancing that allows to catch them with a strangeness that moves them away of the canon of the historical sculpture, a distant formal repertoire that recovers as a damaged, fragile image where the excrescences and accidents of the process of revealing them are matched by the imminence of the civilizing upheaval that we are culturally fostering.
