On the occasion of the XVIII edition of the Premis Espais a la Crítica d’Art, I was invited to create an edition of 4 examples, one to be given to each of the prizewinners.

The valise contains a collection consisting of different inter-related elements. Rejecting the idea of the shining trophy, it functions as a suitcase which grants its carrier the capacity to represent the fictitious state of the República Cadernera (Goldfinch Republic), wherever he may be found, having the ability to identify situations capable of mentally enlarging the before mentioned state.

Silvestrismo  as an icon of an esthetic from outside the mainstream and of a sex which seeks to redefine itself regardless of its state of disorientation.  A  world where ingenuity and aggressiveness go hand in hand in order to blindly survive. A  false innocence that we envision in the daily lives of protagonists which we consider subordinate. Personages which are defined politically by the occupation of their territorial space and at the same time, its true, wielding in spite of themselves an existential irony.

Perhaps it can be imaged that the layer of dust covering that large duchampian glass has transmuted into a fine layer of dandruff which can not be seen without prejudice, strangeness or exoticism that which not long ago constituted the dregs of our cultural foundations, social and psychological, that still today remains as a symptom of residual suburban audacity.
