Within the framework of the larger project, República Cadernera, this single-channel video was created. It presents a flag bearer’s attempt to find the ideal place to display his symbol of identity.

The flag, as an object saturated with references and rituals, as an itinerant element searching for a place to stand. On this occasion, a flag that embodies an ambiguous and dubious social and psychological state. A piece of cloth with colors that hypothetically represent a collective gathered around a common practice that, perhaps due to its decadence, seems to have lost its place in the contemporary world, over-informed, technological, and fearful of recognizing itself in its recent past.

The figure carrying the flag wanders through subordinate spaces, areas on the edge of the city, suburban gardens, residual spaces, in short. In searching for a place to unload its symbolic weight, he becomes a flâneur of these marginalized spaces.
