In a stony place the hand and the camera fixed to the arm, ascend by a steep slope and execute a physical exploration of the tectonics of the land. They cling and rub against the accidents that define it. The sequence of images, in the foreground, shows us ambiguously the ascent up the slope. The agitated focus of the camera dissolves the references of the environment that would allow the viewer to be positioned according to a horizontal or vertical movement.

The camera details the richness of textures and the wide spectrum of colors present in the stony and vegetable materials through which it is rubbed. The close-up of the back of the hand that interacts with the environment, allows us to observe how it is impregnated with an abstract dimension and a sculptural corporeality as the video passes and that it increasingly interferes in the context to become a tracking entity. The entrance to a gallery excavated in the mountains offers us to penetrate the absorbing darkness. Darkness gives way to the need to orient oneself and the effort to climb the tubular hole that leads back to the outside. Standing on all fours, crawling or climbing, the hand is oriented by touch due to lack of vision. The hand becomes the eye of the unseen. Suddenly the pace picks up, we recognize from another point of view some of the places we’ve already seen. Escape, descent and return to the starting point.
